Luque is a town situated in the province of Cordoba on the edge of The Sierra Subbeticas Natural Park. Crowned by a Castle and medieval defensive walls, it is believed to be one of the oldest towns in the province.
There is a cave situated behind the church, which was only discovered in 2002. The caves depict copies of different scenes of the Chalcolithic, Neolithic. The originals are in other caves which are deemed too dangerous to visit. Here the visitor can see the paintings in similar conditions of humidity, temperature, and darkness. There are several guided tours a day leaving from the Museum. The entrance is free. If you are interested in the caves please let me know so I can arrange with the museum in advance.
Other things to see:
Inglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion, A renaissance-style church built between 1567 – 1697 whose architect Hernan Ruiz 11 is also linked to The Cathedrals of Cordoba and Seville.
