Soportujar (Witches Village)
In the heart of the Sierra Nevada National Park is a small village known as the village of witches. Soportujar , where Black Cats wander through the streets, Secret Spells are cast, Hansel and Gretal House, caves, passageways, spiders and so much more. I am not going to tell you any more about this village as we need the suprises to keep coming on the day…….. You will have to join us if you want to know more.
A small visitors centre has now opened entrance fee 2€, which is worth a visit.
Did you know Soportujar is in the Guiness Book of Records, but for what?
Did you know the first Buddhist Temple in Spain is in Soportujar and was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama himself (located approx 3.5km walk ) from the village.

We then move on to Pampaneira, one of the three mountain villages located in the Barranco de Poqueira in the Alpujarras, part of The Alpujarra Alta, in the Sierra Nevada National Park. With its many artisan shops, local handmade rugs, local cheese and hams, leather goods and chocolate factory, bars and restaurants. With narrow cobbled streets and a population of around 355 inhabitants, Pampaneira is worthy of a visit, enjoy, relax and soak up the stunning views.
