The Route of Sun and Wine is 55km long in the Eastern area of The Axarquia Region, it is both Inland and Coastal, passing through the municipalities of Algarrobo, Sayalonga, Cometa, Canillas de Albaida, Torrox, Frigiliana and Nerja. The Inland villages / towns are nestled within the foothills of The Sierra Almijara mountain range and have kept much of their original Moorish Structure. The Grape, from which many good wines are produced is the main agricultural product.
Our first stop will be Canillas de Albaida, situated at the foot of the Sierras de Tejada and Almijara, in a valley formed by The Cajula and Turvilla Rivers, the village with its Moorish features dates back to the 13th Century. Leaving here we take a short drive to Algarrobo, a town with a Moorish layout nestled amonst hills but with a beach and views of the Meditterranean. Leaving Algarrobo we head to Nerja where you will have free time to enjoy.
