TARIFA, set amongst stunning beaches with its Castillo de Guzman dating from the 10th Century is a very bohemian, small historical town on the southernmost point of mainland Spain. Today world-famous for Kiting and Surfing, historically it has suffered many conquests. In 2003 Tarifa was declared as a Site of Cultural Interest. Walk through The Puerta de Jerez, one of only four medievil entrances remaing, and you will find yourself in the old town, a densly packed maze of pretty squares and whitewashed houses. The central aquare is Plaza de Santa Maria affectionately known as Plaza de la Ranita (Little Frog Square). You’ll see why.
Tarifa Carnival starts today the 25th, with its already Bohemian atmosphere plus carnival atmosphere, this should be a trip to remember, there is no agenda available at the time of publishing ( subject to Covid Restrictions.)
