First, we begin our journey with a leisurley drive to the The Lakes in Ardales National Park, enjoy a  short stroll around The Lakeside (Sensible footwear advised as the terrain is uneven) absorb the scenery or sit and relax with a drink in one of the bars or restaurants. We will spend approximately 1  1/2 hrs here before moving on to El Burgo.

Every year in October, El Burgo, goes back in time to the 1840’s to recreate the era of Bandits.  This festival offers you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the traditions of the past.  A time when Bandits lurked in the hillside, when there were Taverns and Wineries, when washing was done in the river, when bread was baked in the village bread ovens, feel the heat of the old Blacksmith shop as well as many other experiences.  Along with traditional Tapas, Handicrafts and local pastries.

This event first took place in 2012 , and quickly established itself to be declared of Tourist Interest by The Provincial Council of Malaga.  The event centres itself around a tragic love story. Agustina, forced to abandon her duty of a peasant mother, becomes a fearless Captain of Bandits, amidst confrontations and robberies, she meets Jose , and they both fall passionately in love………

Around 150 residents take part in the , which also promotes traditional professions , so they are not forgotten.

Leave El Burgo approx 5.30pm
