Firstly may I thank you for subscribing and welcome you to Days out Andalucia’s newsletter.

May has been an interesting month with trips to  Rio Frio, Loja, and Sayalonga. Cordoba for The Patios Festival, which many of you posted fabulous photos on Facebook. Jerez for The Horse Feria which was as colourful as ever. The Sierra Nevadas in the thaw, quite a contrast from being covered in snow.

June has lots to offer.

Cadiz; Wednesday 12th June – 25€.

Enjoy a day in Cadiz, an ancient port city on the South Western coast of Spain. There will be a breakfast (not provided) stop en route and a comfort stop on the return journey. This excursion allows you free time to discover this ancient walled city at your leisure. Visit The Cathedral, believed to be the oldest in Europe likewise visit The Roman Theater or take the Ferry to Puerto Santa Maria. Nerja & Frigiliana Feria; Sunday 16th June – 16€.

Enjoy a leisurely drive to Nerja, where you will have free time to discover and enjoy this pretty town.  Visit the Balcone de Europa and take in the views.  Then our journey takes us to Frigiliana where you can enjoy and join in this local feria. PICK UP POINTS (to be confirmed) START AT FUENGIROLA FERIA GROUND at 9.00 then Benalmadena and Torremolinos.  Leave Frigiliana approx 5pm.

Setenil de Las Bodegas & Juzcar; Thursday 20th June 
(The Flintstones & The Smurfs) – 18€.


Two unusual villages.  Setenil de las Bodegas.  Affectionately known as  ” The Flintstone Village”.   Houses, shops, restaurants, and bars are built under or into rock,  sheltering the village from the Spanish sun.  Free time to explore the village. Then on to something different.   Juzcar, “Aldea Azul” (formerly known as The Smurf Village),   a blue hamlet,  very contrasting from the white pueblos of Southern Spain.  Have your photos taken with the smurfs.  Explore the village or relax in the local bar and buy some blue wine…if you wish. This sleepy village was chosen by Sony Pictures because of its long mycology traditions.  It appeared in the trailer film for The Smurfs.  PICK UPS  start at  8.30 Supersol Torremolinos,  Benalmadena, Fuengirola.  Leave Juzcar approx 5pm

Alfanarte Cherry Festival & Rincon de La Victoria ;
Saturday 22nd June 17.50


Alfarnate celebrates the harvest of the cherry with its annual Cherry Festival.  The local bars swap dominoes for pip throwing competitions. This sleepy village comes alive as many people flock to join in the celebrations.  Craft Market, local produce, and cherries galore a short drive away from Alfarnate is the resort of Rincon de la Victoria.  A flat promenade is a home to many bars and restaurants where you can relax after the bustle of the festival.Pick Ups: start Fuengirola Ferria 9.30 Benalmadena . Seville; Wednesday 26th June – 25€

Seville is the Capital City of Andalucia.  A place to admire the fabulous architecture. Visit one of the many museums. Enjoy food and drink, take a cruise down the river. Discover the city by Horse and Landaue. Free time to explore. PICK UPS: Fuengirola Ferria 8.00am Benalmadena. & Torremolinos Depart Seville approx 5.00pm

Howling with The Wolves  under the  Full Moon (evening  trip);
Saturday 29th June – 45€  (Limited availability)


A very different evening out,  experience the wolves at night. A 3 1/2 hour tour including snacks.  Involves walking approx 800m  on a gravel incline.  As the sun starts to set the wolves to get livelier. An experience to remember.

INTERESTING APP FOR TRAVELLERS

Some of you may be aware of this APP, some may have not …VISITACITY.   Download then type in the city you are visiting. It gives a description of monuments, tourist attractions etc, things to do. How to spend half days, days, maps, length of approximate time at each attraction.  A must download for anybody who wants to make the most of their visit.

    I am comimg to Fuengirola in January ,hope you still be having the tours .I am staying at the Angela hotel ,it is fully booked so think I could fill a tour .
