Teba is a town 15km north of Ardeles, steeped in history with an unusual link to Scotland. Every August since 2005 Teba celebrates Douglas Day recalling the death in 1330 of the soldier James Douglas, bearer of the heart of King Robert the Bruce, in the reconquest of the Castle of The Star. In Plaza de Espana sits a very large Granite monument, carried from Scotland and dedicated to the memory of Robert the Bruce, King of Scots, and his Lieutenant Sir James Douglas. Besides Douglas Day, every October Teba celebrates with The Artisanal Cheese Festival , with over 50 stalls offering their product in various flavours. Teba is a town worthy of a visit at anytime.
